Manga practice

Hi! Here is a little page of manga doodles/practice drawings. Remember- double click to see full size.

I looked at the drawing tutorials on Manga University and some Youtube vidoes by Mark Crilley. The worst drawing is probably the biggest picture/ girl with ponytail. She has really bad hair, and I just noticed that I forgot to colour in her ponytail. The crying one in the corner is chibi, I think. I like the really happy one that's just a face best. I'm not very good at manga, but I'm practising. I promise I will post a proper manga picture soon, not just doodles. Tell me which of the eyes is best.

PS I'm not trying to be patronising by adding the "eyes, nose, mouth" diagram in the corner. It's just that I'm reminding myself how low down in the face the eyes go.

Mirror portrait

Don't worry, I haven't disapeared! I just don't post very often. You'll have to live with that. Here is a picture I drew yesterday.

It is a bit small, I haven't worked out how to enlarge it. The picture is actually A4. I added the table last, because it looked very empty without it, and also unrealistic. It wouldn't look like a real home without any furniture at all. The girl is just made up. It isn't anyone I know. Please let me know what you think, if it would be better without the table.

First Posting

This is the fourth "first posting" I have written (one on my other blog, one on my deleted blog, and a deleted one on this blog) and I still can't think of a more interesting title. I'll just say that it's a tradition. Anyway, this blog (in theory, anyway) is where I am going to post any drawings, paintings, photos and doodles that I think are worth sharing. A little like Pixeloo (of you don't know it Google it). Ok, I'm not as good an artist, I don't work on Photoshop, and I probably won't be doing any untooning, but it's still an art blog. Actually, forget that. It's nothing like Pixeloo. It's more like.... The Doodle Post! So, just to give you an idea of what I might post in future, here are some pictures. These aren't my best pictures, but they are the best ones on the computer and I can't be bothered scanning any others right now. The photo is part of a series. They're just little ornaments set in front of a post card. I might post some others another time. The other two are done on paper, not the computer.
